(via www.bnqt.com ) Chinese television network, CCTV,  invited Timo Pritzel over to Beijing recently to take part in its latest episode of Guiness World Records. (via www.bnqt.com) réseau de télévision chinoise, CCTV, a invité Timo Pritzel plus récemment à Beijing pour participer à son dernier épisode de Guinness World Records. The crew set up a massive wooden kicker/height pole/landing on a lot somewhere in Beijing and Timo got busy. L'équipage a mis en place un bois massif kicker / hauteur de pôle ou à l'atterrissage sur un terrain quelque part à Beijing et Timo s'est occupé. Timo managed to break the world record by jumping 17 feet! Timo a réussi à briser le record du monde de saut d'obstacles par 17 pieds!

If you didn’t already know the 2008 Beijing Olympic games will be official opened today. Si vous n'avez pas déjà savoir de 2008 Jeux Olympiques de Pékin sera ouverte aujourd'hui officielle. I will do my best to keep you updated with the mountain bike and BMX results over the coming weeks plus any other interesting Olympic news. Je vais faire de mon mieux pour vous tenir à jour avec le vélo de montagne et de BMX résultats au cours des prochaines semaines, plus d'autres nouvelles intéressantes olympique. Luckily for me we are situated in Qingdao the Olympic sailing city, and have been fortunate enough to meet with Olympians from Australia, Italy, Israel, France and many others. Heureusement pour moi, nous sommes situés à Qingdao de la ville olympique de voile, et ont eu la chance de rencontrer des athlètes olympiques de l'Australie, Israël, Italie, France et bien d'autres.

The picture above was taken last night just outside the Olympic Village in Qingdao and show the preparations for tonight’s opening celebrations. La photo ci-dessus a été pris hier soir juste à l'extérieur du village olympique de Qingdao et de montrer les préparatifs de ce soir de l'ouverture des célébrations.

Norco unveiled thier 09 line up a few weeks back and some crafty bugger managed to get a picture of this. Norco dévoilé leur ligne de 09 jusqu'à il ya quelques semaines et quelques astucieux bugger réussi à obtenir une image de ce. It’s the 09 Norco Fallout complete with Hammerschmitt? C'est le 09 Norco Fallout avec Hammerschmitt? Looks to me as this is what all the fuss is about and I’m really impressed by the neatness and shear size of it. Me semble que c'est ce que tout le bruit est d'environ et je suis vraiment impressionné par la propreté et de cisaillement taille de celui-ci. I found more pics yesterday, but forgot to save them DOH! J'ai trouvé plus de photos d'hier, mais j'ai oublié de mettre les DOH! so only one….. si un seul ... .. for know. pour savoir. Keep posted! I’m not entirely sure what time the torch arrived, but luckily for you and me I was in the right place at the right time with my super zoom camera! Je ne suis pas entièrement sûr de ce que le temps est arrivé le flambeau, mais heureusement pour vous et moi j'ai été au bon endroit au bon moment avec mon appareil photo super zoom! I was under the impression the torch would come first in the procession, but I was wrong. J'avais l'impression de la torche serait arrivé premier dans le cortège, mais j'avais tort. The first thing to come along was the Coca-Cola float followed closely by the Samsung and Lenovo vans. La première chose à venir, a été le Coca-Cola flotteur suivie de près par le Samsung et Lenovo fourgonnettes. Then the cheering really got started when the new torch bearer came along and stood practically in front of us. Ensuite, la joie a vraiment commencé lorsque le nouveau porteur du flambeau est arrivée et s'est pratiquement en face de nous. After a bit of posing the former bearer arrived and the torch was lit…. Après un peu de l'ex-posant au porteur sont arrivés et la torche a été allumée .... and that was that. et qui a été que. I’ll post more pictures later. Je posterai plus de photos plus tard.

Still nothing much going on, however the crowds are here and the helicopters are flying low. Toujours rien de bien aller, cependant les foules sont ici et les hélicoptères volant à basse altitude.

You may ask why am I awake at this ungodly hour when I should be tucked up in bed dreaming of shiny bike parts. Mai vous demander pourquoi je suis réveillé à ce impies heure où je devrais être rentré dans lit en rêvant de brillantes pièces de vélos. Well the reason is today is the day the Olympic torch and its bearer/s come to Qingdao. Eh bien la raison en est aujourd'hui, c'est le jour où la flamme olympique et de son porteur / s venir à Qingdao. Luckily for me my home is a quick 30 second walk from the main route of the torch, however it also means I get to here the drums banging at 7am in preparation for the big event. Heureusement pour moi, ma maison est un petit 30 secondes de marche de la route principale de la torche, mais il signifie aussi je obtenir ici à la batterie frappant à 7 heures en préparation de l'événement. I just had a quick look around (there’s not much to see). Je viens d'avoir un rapide coup d'oeil autour (il n'ya pas grand chose à voir). The main Hong Kong Rd which runs through Qingdao has been blocked off and is lined with brightly dressed Olympic volunteers (1000’s of them!) equally huge numbers of police are out and about, and there are a handful of vendors. Les principaux Rd Hong Kong qui traverse Qingdao a été bloqué et est bordée de vives volontaires habillés olympique (1000 d'entre eux!) Également un nombre énorme de la police et environ, et il ya une poignée de fournisseurs. I’m not entirely sure when the torch is due, and I doubt I’ll get to see it (there’s going to be huge! crowds) I may even take my bike for a ride, however if I am around and I have my camera I’ll get a pic. Je ne suis pas entièrement sûr que lorsque la torche est due, et je doute, je vais prendre le voir (il va être énorme! Foules) mai je même prendre mon vélo pour un tour, mais si je suis autour, et je avoir mon appareil photo je vais obtenir un pic.

For the past few years everyone has been drooling over all the shiny white components that have arrived on sale. Au cours des dernières années tout le monde a été baver sur toutes les composantes luisante blanc qui sont arrivés en vente. Deity were one of the first to introduce white parts, but everyone followed suit (eventually). Déité ont été l'un des premiers à introduire des parties blanches, mais tout le monde a suivi (éventuellement). MacMahone came to the wedding a little late however, its only in the last few months that their white handle bars and seats have come to the market and were waiting on the rest. MacMahone est venu à la cérémonie de mariage un peu tard cependant, son seul au cours des derniers mois que leur guidon blanc et des sièges sont venus sur le marché et attendaient sur le reste. But being French and all they’ve decided to jump on the new ‘In’ color bandwagon ………. Mais le fait d'être français et ils ont tous décidé de sauter sur le nouveau 'dans' la couleur mouvement ... ... .... green. vert. I think my brother is going to be happy as he can now get his Jackal to look like a lime and orange Tic Tac, but is green the new white? Je pense que mon frère va être heureux comme il peut maintenant obtenir son Chacal à ressembler à un citron vert et orange Tic Tac, mais est le nouveau vert blanc? I’ll continue to wait for the industry to go full circle and offer everything in anodized purple again. When buying new gears for your ‘rig’ (ha ha there you are Ash I said it) you have really one of two options…. Lors de l'achat de nouveaux engins pour votre «rig» (ha ha vous y sont Ash je l'ai dit) vous avez vraiment l'une des deux options .... don’t you? n'est-ce pas? Shimano or the ‘Big S’ hailing from Japan, or Sram or as they say in China ‘S ram’ from sun bathed Cali. Shimano ou le «Big S 'venus du Japon, ou SRAM ou comme on dit en Chine" S bélier "baignée du soleil de Cali. I’ve always liked to stay away from the mainstream so ever since I can remember I’ve always chosen what I considered to be the ‘Underdog’ option. J'ai toujours aimé rester à l'écart de l'intégrer de façon depuis toujours je me souvienne, j'ai toujours choisi ce que je considère être la "Underdog" option. Anyone remember Sachs wavy shifters? Tout le monde se rappeler Sachs ondulés de changement? I had those, and my current ’sled’ (ha ha I did it again!!) has nothing from the ‘Big S’ on board. J'ai eu ceux, et mon "sled" (ha ha je l'ai fait de nouveau!) N'a rien de la "Big S" à bord. However now even Sram is pretty mainstream so I’ve been hankering over something unique. Mais maintenant, même Sram est assez grand, je n'ai plus envie été quelque chose d'unique. I already have two single speeds before you start, and a hub gear has been rattling around in my mind for some time. No, what I want is something people are going to look at and either say ‘Wow, thats pretty cool’ or for the uneducated ‘Why would you use a piece of sh1! Today I found this, the Driven range of top end bike parts from………. Aujourd'hui, j'ai trouvé cela, axés sur la gamme de vélos haut de gamme des pièces de ... ... .... Sunrace!! If you’ve been in to cycling for a while you would have heard of Sunrace. Si vous avez été à vélo pendant un certain temps vous avez entendu parler de Sunrace. Back in the day when everyone was starting out Shimano, Sunrace and Suntour were all pretty level pegged, however the other 2 S’s struggled to keep up, and are only just gaining momentum again. Retour dans la journée où tout le monde a commencé à Shimano, Sunrace SUNTOUR et ont tous été rattaché niveau assez, cependant les 2 autres S du mal à suivre, et ne font que prendre de l'ampleur de nouveau.

The Driven range has been in development for sometime and consists of both mountain bike and road bike components. La gamme Driven a été en développement pendant un certain temps et se compose de deux VTT et vélo de route composants. Everything from hubs, shifters and derailleurs have been designed and made of advanced materials such as carbon, ceramic and beautifully cnc’d aluminum. Tout de plates-formes, les manettes et dérailleurs ont été conçus et fabriqués de matériaux comme le carbone, la céramique et du beau cnc'd aluminum.

The Driven mountain bike range comes in two flavours the NMX and NMZ (the X is presumably the higher of the two models as it has gold bits !). We’ll last weekend we got to the track and did a bit of work on the jump (as some arse had tried to destroy it). Nous allons le week-end dernier nous sommes arrivés à la piste et a fait un peu de travail sur le saut (comme certains le cul a essayé de le détruire). Then we spent 4 hours in the hot sun building our berm. Ensuite, nous avons passé 4 heures dans la chaleur du soleil la construction de notre mur. We’re pretty impressed with the results (check the photos below) I just hope it survived the torrential rain this morning and Phil’s load-bearing cardboard does its job. Nous sommes très impressionnés par les résultats (voir les photos ci-dessous) J'espère juste que il a survécu à la pluie torrentielle de ce matin et la charge de Phil portant carton fait son travail. Next weekend we’ll get some more done, probably a berm to the left right after this right hander as it’s pretty damn quick now! Le week-end prochain nous aurons fait un peu plus, probablement un monticule à gauche juste après cette droite comme il est assez rapide maintenant putain!

The guys over in Hangzhou have been out and about again. Les gars en plus de Hangzhou ont été et de nouveau sur. This time at Yu Yang Hill, Suzhou. Cette fois-ci, à Yu Yang Hill, Suzhou. It seems they’ve found what we have always wanted a DH track in their backyard! Il semble qu'ils ont trouvé ce que nous avons toujours voulu une piste DH dans leur cour! With any luck we’ll be able to visit Hangzhou sometime and see what the riding is really like. Avec un peu de chance nous serons en mesure de visiter Hangzhou parfois et voir ce que la circonscription est vraiment.
