After watching the short video by the Beijing MOB last week, we were inspired to put together our own short video. What we have here is not it! This is just a bit of footage we shot yesterday morning in an hour or so of riding.
We’ll start some ‘real’ filming this week on better camera and add the footage when it’s done.
We did an amazing MTB trip in Sept 08 with TAC, have a look of our
photos at http://beijingmobsters.spaces.live.com/photos/cns!FE348A8C7EB58795!1585/
We will go back again with TAC to Panshan Mountain area this
weekend.
There are 2 options for this over-night MOB TAC ride & hike on Nov 8
Sat & 9 Sun, 2008. Family and kids are warmly welcome:
1. MTB ride
a. A MOB Mountain Bike trip for the fast guys and girls
b. A “Mushes” Mountain Bike trip for the ones who enjoy taking time
for the colorful autumn scenery
2. 2-Days Hike
A hiking trip in the mountains. The area is simply excellent for
hiking! Bring your kids for this, - they will love it. One of the days
we will walk on and along an unrestored part of the Great Wall.
MOB bus will bring the hikers this Sat & Sun to the starting point and
meet all the hikers at the finishing point back to hotel.
Date & time of departure:
Present yourself at 7:50 for a 8am sharp departure on Nov 8, 2008 Sat
An early and prompt start is essential
Where we meet:
Agriculture Exhibition Hall (AEH)
400m south of the Sheraton,
opposite the eastern end of Dongzhimenwai
Remember it is family tour - that means that we will do all the things
we did last time in Panshan (riding pretty hard - party etc) but there
will also be room for kids and adults slightly less adventurous

Well for the past few weeks we’ve continued to ride but our numbers have dwindled as people popped back to home for holidays and what not. Ken, Kuni and myself have continued to ride and Ash and Phil will be back just in time for next Sunday’s ride. I’m hoping to get some of the Olympic guys to come out with us at some point too.
The weather is awesome now. This is really thanks to the Olympics! the air quality is soooo much better than a few months ago, the views from the top of the new DH were amazing on Sunday (unfortunately I didn’t take a still camera). The previous weeks rides were wet and muddy and claimed yet another of my phones Bye bye Blackberry you served me well. It was my only stupid fault really. Had a bit of a blond moment where I decided part of the river would be shallow due to the face a duck was swimming about (maybe I was hungover/still drunk?) anyway Kuni and I rode through with water easily coming over the tops of our 6 inch travel forks, but it was surprisingly easy going.
I’m going to try and load a helmet cam video of the new DH in a mo. It’s not very interesting to watch to be honest, but its fun to ride! Got to watch out for those trees though they really make the path narrow.
Update: heres the video (I hope) may take a while to start so be patient.
