Another day draws to an end at the Taipei Bicycle Show 08, and yet more innovative and fresh products were thrust upon the unsuspecting (?) public.

Here are a few that caught our, and others, eyes….

A-Pro Tech

a-pro-tech-pull-shock.jpgA-Pro Tech had a single pivot pull shock design full suspension frame on show. The design actually won an innovation award, and is said to negate rider forces, provide a stronger, lighter platform than conventional platforms and due to the design the shock rate can be tuned to provide stable pedaling and maximum impact absorbtion. Pull shocks aren’t new (Schwinn, GT Lobo) but, with the advent of pedal platforms such as Manitous SPV and Fox’s Pro Pedal, maybe the pull shock will see a new lease of life in the near futer.

RST Storm Lux Suspension Fork

rst-storm-lux.jpgRST’s new Storm Lux has an air spring to reduce weight plus a new neat remote travel adjuster. Travel can be adjusted from 100-160mm via the bar mounted control (similar to the Kowa 160ss maybe, bar the remote control) . The Storm Lux also features rebound and compression adjustment. Could this be a return to the top for RST?

Bengal Brakes

bengal-helix-11.jpgBengal may be best known for producing Atomlab’s Pimp brakes and excellent Hydro Twist, but they also produce some great brakes of their own. The Helix 1.1 are basically the same as the Pimp brake. Weighing in at an amazing 120grams it pack dual calipers, a 360 degree Aorta valve at the lever to help mounting on the bars (ala old Hope’s and Giant RPM’s) and brake pads with a wear indicator. We would be interested in trying a pair of these out (hin, hint Bengal…)

SR Suntour

sr-suntour-electric-lockout.jpgThe SF9 Axon ELD suspension fork features an electronic lockout system. We’re not sure how the system works, although we do know the cable houses the battery and controller to improve the waterproof charecteristics. It’s also said support teams at this years Beijing Olympics will use this fork.

Wellgo

The ‘Face off’ is Wellgo’s new pedal, which incorporates interchangeable plates, imagine a 50 50 which you can adapt to your specific needs. The ‘Face Off’ or ‘MX-11′ will be available in 6 outer body colour variations, so matching your scheme should’nt be a problem.

More Taipei Bike 08 info as it comes.
