I just found this rather interesting thread over at www.mtb-bg.com. It shows off the wild, wacky and plain old ridiculous bikes, companies and individuals have been putting together over the past few decades.

Route:
We will go to Taoyukou Loup. For the Mushes, it will be fully paved
approx 45km; for MOB, we go from the village shop beside the bridge
into the village & valley, cycle along the reservoir and country
road. including a few bike pushing. On the way back to the MOB bus,
if we wish, we can have lunch in our ‘designated’ MOB restaurant.
For the people would like for further challenges, an extra climb just
after hitting the main road of 1st valley, then join the others for
lunch; 2nd option is that we can ride back to town after lunch.
