We reported on Iggy bikes some time ago, and then again a few months back when they asked us to hold a pole regarding color options. Since then however there has been no new news about this little company.
Iggy bikes have made a few friends in the cycling world by being open minded and listening to rider input. The original Iggy STP (this is the proto name) was designed using a bent top tube, however riders said they would prefer a simpler design with a straight top tube, the designers took this on board and redesigned the frame (the bent tube models are still under testing and straight tube models wont be made for a few months).
Iggy bikes not only want to be an approachable brand, but one small shops and groups of individuals can afford to get involved with through their small minimum order quantities and custom color options and also low price.
“I always wanted to get in to the bike industry, but didn’t really know how to go about it. I started off working for shops and then went to Europe working with some brands there. Then I decided to start my own bike company, it wasn’t a sudden decision the idea was always there, but I wanted my brand to help people like me. So I went about looking for ways to a bike company which could produce top quality kit, and also be flexible enough to change designs relatively quickly to keep ahead. We’ve managed to do this by keeping the company small and getting involved with the riders”
Iggy Bikes are also trying to catch the attention of groups of riders who are interested in starting there own company or shop, due to the small minimum orders and relatively low price virtually anyone can afford to become a distributor for them.
But what about the bikes? How do they ride? Well you’ll be the first to know as we are getting an Iggy STP for test very soon!

We found this video over at Broadband Sports.com. It shows an individual riding then racing on a couple of BMX tracks in China. The first track seems to be in the South of China, judging by the vegetation, while the second track could possibly be somewhere in the North, maybe an old training track in Beijing?
Does anyone have any information on these tracks? Where are they located? Are they still there?
We’ve contacted the person who posted the video, in the hope they can shed some light.
Are there anymore cool tracks, riding areas, downhills or parks that you know about in China? If so why not share with us? Contact andi@chinamtb.com with your rides details and if possible some photos.
In the mean time click read more to watch this video.

Dickie Jones over at Arfeeriders.com has just finished his build and review of Identiy’s P-45 Omen street bike.
Taking the bike downtown was my ultimate test. At this point I was used to the front end and could manual on command. I felt like I could bunnyhop over whatever was in my way ….
Check out this sweet bike and excellent review at www.arfreeriders.com.
The Chinese people are very proud of the fact they will host the Olympics this year, and a number of enthusiastic individuals have been out and about promoting the Olympic spirit. One such individual is Meng Jie from Heilongjiang Province who set off from Yinchuan of Northwest China last October and arrived in Beijing on the 22nd of January. That’s one long journey to be performed on a bike! Let alone a bike designed to look like the Olympic rings!
The extremely short wheel based bike not only sports the Olympic rings, but also an interesting pedal and feet peg combo!
Meng Jie will continue to ride the Olympic ring bike around China to spread the Olympic spirit!
We’ve reported on the chromoly framed Kingdom a few times before on chinamtb, but this is the first time we’ve seen one built as a complete bike! I already have too many bikes and the Kingdom is begging me to buy it! Can I resist it’s advances? Watch this space. Click on the photo to see a bigger image. Thanks to www.razorimages.com for the pic.
Marechal, the distributors of MacMahone and a whole host of other great companies here in Asia, were kind enough to send us a MacMahone Sang Royal headset for testing. It only arrived this morning so we’ve had no chance to try it, but it looks like a great piece of kit.
We’ll post more info and full report later in the month so keep posted.
